Today, Monday, June 22, the deadline for cleaning and the statement of plots of landwith the statements which had been submitted by her morning June 19th to amount to 574,894.
The owners, usufructuary, lessees and sublessees of the plots have until today the opportunity to proceed with the cleaning of their plots while they are obliged to maintain them throughout the fire protection period. After the completion of the works, citizens should declare the cleaning of their plots on the special electronic platform of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, . It is also possible to submit through KEP and Fire Services in cases of objective impossibility.
In fact, as the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection emphasized in a recent interview, Evangelos Tournasfrom tomorrow Tuesday the checks for the implementation of the measure will begin. “They should be finished and from Tuesday we go in for the checks“, he noted, explaining that the municipalities have the main responsibility, with the assistance of the local Fire Services. As he said, the agencies will inspect their areas of responsibility, “they will roam all the streets and see where the grosses are“, in order to follow the prescribed fines and cleanup procedures where necessary. At the same time, he made it clear that no new extension will be given, pointing out that the decision was taken based on the recommendations of the Risk Assessment Committee. “The extension has been granted. The margin closes on the 22nd of the month. No further extension can be given, because the climate crisis does not give us an extension“, he pointed out characteristically.
In a meeting held last week with the deputy mayors of Civil Protection of all the municipalities of Attica, Mr. Tournas also called on the municipalities to immediately complete the tasks assigned to them, but also to facilitate the citizens in the management of cleaning residues. In this context, he asked the municipalities to designate and publicize collection points for pruning and plant residues, so that citizens who clean their properties know where they can deposit them.
It is worth noting that on Saturday a meeting was held under Mr. Tournas with the commanders of the Fire Services, the leadership of the Fire Brigade and senior executives, during which the focus will be on the cleaning of the plots as well as the controls that will follow for the implementation of the measure.
