The Greek Police is issuing a warning about a new dangerous digital fraud that has been set up on the internet with the aim of “emptying” bank accounts.

Fraud EL,AS.

The Hellenic Police, with its announcement, informs the citizens that astute persons have created a misleading website, which imitates the official website of the Hellenic Police and is used to deceive citizens and intercept personal and banking information.

In particular, the vigilantes have created a website with the address astynomiiia.cc, which visually resembles the official website of the Hellenic Police and urges users to register information allegedly for the payment of traffic fines.

This website does not belong to the Greek Police.

Citizens are invited:

  • not to enter personal or banking details on said website,
  • not proceed with any payment through it,
  • to always check that they are on the official website of the Hellenic Police before taking any action,
  • be especially careful with links sent via SMS, email or messaging applications.

In the event that a citizen has already entered personal or bank details on this website, it is recommended that he contact his bank immediately to take measures to protect his accounts and cards and inform the Greek Police.

It is recalled that the official website of the Hellenic Police is exclusively www.astynomia.gr and citizens must always verify the address of the website before registering any information.
