45 new air traffic controllers (ATC) were sworn in yesterday 20/7 by the Civil Aviation Service “strengthening its human resources in a vital sector for the smooth operation of air transport and the optimization of air traffic management”.

As the CAA states in its announcement, “the new auditors come from the pool of successful candidates of ASEP’s 2C/2024 announcement and were selected using EUROCONTROL’s FEAST program, a modern and reliable evaluation process through ASEP. This procedure was applied for the first time and based on it, initially 80 VET were appointed in October 2025”.

In the near future, the swearing-in of 8 more VET is imminent, while by the end of 2026 the appointment of an additional 21 VET is planned. In total, the newly appointed VETs during the two years 2025-2026 will amount to 169, significantly strengthening the capacity of the Service in this field.

At the same time, according to the CAA announcement, an airport flight information officer, category TE, was sworn in, who will undertake duty at Kastelorizo ​​airport, as well as 4 drivers to reinforce the airports of Chios, Naxos, Kythira and Sitia.

The ceremony was attended by the deputy commander of the CAA, Giorgos Vagenas, as well as senior officers of the Service, who congratulated the new employees and wished them a good career.
