In the video, the white object lands on the pink microphone in front of the British singer. Robbie Williams catches it and then puts it to his forehead, the move instantly sparking comments and speculation online.
Several social media users described the object as a “pill”, while there were no shortage of scenarios even for substance use. As the rumors began to multiply, the singer decided to give his own response through a video he posted on his Instagram account.
As he explained, the object was nothing more than a simple peppermint lozenge. In fact, he faced the incident with humor, showing that he had other lozenges with him and wanting to remind that one should not draw hasty conclusions from a snapshot.
“I would like to apologize for the object that fell on the microphone yesterday. It was deeply unprofessional and people worried about me.”he said initially with irony. He then smiled and added, “But that’s okay, because I still have enough,” showing two lozenges inside his mouth and putting an end to the rumors in his own way.
